Radcliffe-based Creation Cycles has launched a funding campaign to create a cycling track in Nottinghamshire.

The independent bike shop, now found off the High Street next to The Grange, aims to raise £500,000 to create a local mountain biking destination.

The campaign description says their aim is to: “develop a new uplift assisted bike park on the boarder of Nottinghamshire. Our aim is to deliver a bike park that caters to everyone from beginners to professional riders. A truly family friendly enviroment which showcases the sport, opens opportunties for participation and gets more people active. The bike park will consist of 10 downhill trails (more added over a number of years) varying in length from 2-3km per run, be uplift assisted and have a shop with cafe.”

It continues: “The trails will range from Green (beginner trails) through to Purple (Pro Lines). With the wide experience we have had along side our trail building team we will not only look to deliver our plan but also add into the various trail styles found across the world. As you will see from the images below the site has a varying terrain. Allowing us to create mellow trails for less experienced riders and steep trails for those more experienced.

If the plan was to go ahead, the facility would aim in summer 2024 and offer coaching, host races and cater to people of differing cycling abilities.

The public has the ability to pledge towards the campaign and the team offers additional incentives for supporters.
