Gun Seized in Radcliffe Raid

39-year-old man from Woodthorpe appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 November 2023 charged with possession of a firearm, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and cocaine, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 21 December 2023.

A man has begun court proceedings following Nottinghamshire Police’s discovery of a weapon at an address in Radcliffe on Trent.

Among the seized items was a handgun found during a raid at an address in Addington Court on 15 August 2023.

Drugs and knuckledusters were discovered at separate address in Woodthorpe as part of the same investigation.

The 39-year-old from Woodthorpe appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 23 November 2023 charged with possession of a firearm, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and cocaine, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

The individual next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 21 December 2023.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Tackling serious and organised crime is an absolute priority for us. Drug supply and serious violence are often inextricably linked, as shown by the weapons recovered as part of this investigation. 

“I want to reassure the people of Nottinghamshire that we will do everything in our power to protect the public, to ensure that those who commit weapon-enabled crime are dealt with quickly and appropriately, and we will continue our work to remove dangerous weapons and harmful drugs from our streets.”
