Today (6 May) Radcliffe on Trent residents will vote in the local elections.
Those registered will get the chance to vote for the Radcliffe on Trent representative on Nottinghamshire County Council as well as the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
Nottinghamshire county council elections take place every four years and 66 seats will be decided, including one for Radcliffe on Trent.
The Radcliffe on Trent council seat represents Radcliffe on Trent as well as nearby Adbolton, Bassingfield, Gamston North, Holme Pierrepont, Upper Saxondale and Shelford.
Local people will vote for one of the following choices for the Radcliffe on Trent Nottinghamshire councillor seat:
- Martin Michael Murphy (Labour)
- Roger Glyn Upton (Conservative)
- Helga Margret Wills (Green)
- Adam Zbigniew Witko (Liberal Democrats)
At the last local election in 2017 Mrs Kay Cutts MBE maintained her seat and became the Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council.
In October 2020, Mrs Cutts declared that she would not stand in today’s, meaning the result will decide a new Radcliffe on Trent councillor.
The options for Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire are:
- Caroline Elizabeth Henry (Conservative)
- Paddy Tipping (Labour)
- David Kenneth Watts (Liberal Democrats)
Paddy Tipping currently holds the position and has since the role was created in 2012.
There are polling stations at Grange Hall on Vicarage Lane and British Legion Hall at 17 Main Road, NG12 2FD.

Those voting will be asked to wear masks unless exempt, to bring their own pens and to adhere to social distancing.
Postal ballot papers were sent to the electorate in April.
