Nottinghamshire Police has released a warning to the parents of children in Radcliffe on Trent after pupils at South Nottinghamshire Academy said they were followed by a van.
The school sent a report to the force after three pupils raised concerns that a blue van had followed them on the morning of Tuesday 30 November.
Parents at all three of Radcliffe on Trent’s schools – Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School, Radcliffe on Trent Junior School and South Nottinghamshire Academy – were sent alerts later on in the day to notify them of the incident.
The statement published on the Rushcliffe South Police Facebook page says: “The pupils reported to academy staff that they thought the vehicle was following them at approximately 8am this morning and that the driver had stared at them at some point.
“We do not have any further details of the vehicle and are mindful that there may be a reasonable explanation for its behaviour but would like to take this opportunity to remind both pupils and parents to be vigilant with regard to such circumstances.”
