A new all-electric bus service now runs from Radcliffe to Nottingham City centre.
The new service launched yesterday (3 May) is a zero-emission service
The Nottsbus ECOnnect 33 replaces the previous CT4N route 33 service and continues to take passengers from villages such as Cotgrave, Tollerton and now Radcliffe to the city.
Each Nottsbus ECOnnect 33 bus has a capacity of 32 passengers and will be operated by Nottinghamshire County Council’s Fleet Transport Service.
The service was funded by Funding for the new service has been provided by Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Bus Support budget as well as developer contributions from Cotgrave’s Holly Gate development.
The 33 route includes stops in Radcliffe, at Morrison’s in Gamston, Cotgrave Country Park, West Bridgford Town Centre and Nottingham City Centre.
Councillor Neil Clarke MBE, Chairman of the Transport and Environment Committee, speaking to West Bridgford Wire, said: “We are delighted to add two more new electric buses to our fleet. As a Council we are committed to improving air quality, addressing climate change, exploring sustainable transport opportunities and ensuring we continue to provide a much-needed bus service for the local residents.
“These new eco buses produce zero exhaust emissions, meaning that residents and passengers will benefit from cleaner air along the new Nottsbus ECOnnnect 33 route. We are looking forward to adding further eco buses to our fleet in the future.”
