Work has started on the first of two new pedestrian crossings on Shelford Road.
Local residents have been warned to expect a period of inconvenience until work is completed in late March 2025.
Work on first crossing began on Monday 6 January and is scheduled to continue to 2 March 2025.
A two-way temporary traffic light system is in operation on Shelford Road to reduce delays to traffic.
The side roads Queens Road and Grandfield Avenue will be closed while work takes place.
Between 7:30pm 2 March and 10pm 3 March 2025 Wakefield Avenue and Queens Road will be closed due to safety and constrained road widths.
Work on a second crossing will take place from 3 March to 23 March 2025 following the completion of the first crossing.
Traffic management will be in place until 23 March 2025.
