Shelford Road has been closed to traffic while a new pedestrian crossing is being installed.
Traffic in Radcliffe on Trent is unable to travel between Walnut Drive and New Road until 3pm today.
The work on is scheduled to take place between 9am and 3.30 between Wednesday 30 April and Friday 2 May with temporary traffic lights in place.
Buses will be diverted while work takes place and local traffic will be forced to take alternative routes.
