A warning has been issued to Radcliffe on Trent residents about the use of e-scooters in public places.
The Radcliffe on Trent beat manager for Nottinghamshire Police PC Sanders has confirmed that motorised scooters cannot be ridden on roads, cycle or pedestrianised areas.
A spokesperson for PC Sanders, speaking exclusively to West Bridgford Wire said: “‘As part of ongoing operations Radcliffe on Trent beat manager PC Sanders has been on Patrol with SC Arnold addressing speeding and e-scooter concerns engaging with local residents.”
They added: “Whilst on Patrol a local resident was warned in relation to the use of e-scooters – PC Sanders would like to remind any person riding an e-scooter and stopped by an officer could result in a warning being issued and should a user of an e-scooter be stopped for a second time then this could result in seizure of the e-scooter under Section 165 Road Traffic Act 1988.”
In addition to e-scooters, PC Sanders also addressed local traffic speeding concerns.
Speed checks have recently taken place in Radcliffe on Trent as well as the nearby, East Bridgford and Bingham.
The spokesperson said: “At each location numerous vehicles were checked and none found to be over the speed limit – Thank you for driving carefully.
